President calls for hedgehog society to be re-invigorated - 24 Sept 08
President of the hedgehog society, Callum Eastwood, recently ate a hedgehog (15 mins ago) and decided that a valuable resource (this website) was underdeveloped for hedgehog lovers worldwide. The call has gone out for renewed input, Switzerland, are you listening??
Chief replicator sets HSO standard
In their 11/11/05 SGM members of the hedgehog society were privileged to sample a hedgehog baked by Anna 'Right' Boin, the society's chief replicator. Among those present were the President and Vice-President, who decided upon a ranking of 6.5/10 on the HSO (Hedgehog Standards Organisation) scale. The slice definitely possessed good form, responding well to the drop test, the encapsulated biscuit pieces were suitably crunchy, and it was on the whole very well presented. Points not in the slice's favour included inappropriate width-length ratio, lack of a chocolate icing, and possibly overabundance of suitably crunchy biscuit pieces.
A motion was passed to enshrine this slice as the HSO standard against which other slice's will be judged. Preservation of the slice is being undertaken. See below for a picture of the Original Boin Hedgehog Slice.

South-West Victorians make good Hedgehogs!
A day trip by the Chief Ranking Organiser to South-West Vic (17 Nov 05) brought the chance to sample an early morning Hedgy (sorry about the poor light in the pic)
In scoring a 7/10 the CHO noted the good width-length ratio, appropriate biscuit and coconut density, and exemplary icing depth. Holding it back from a better score was the fact it was quite sugary, very dense (would break a toe in the drop test), the coconut sprinklings were too embedded in the icing, and it caused the CHO to lapse into a medium-length coughing fit (note: coughing may have been due to operator error while conducting sampling). All in all, and slice worthy of the Hedgehog moniker.
